Annual Cycle Ride

17 July 2020

Aylesford, Kent to Ypres, Belgium

The Event

Join RBLI’s veterans and take part in the two-day bike ride through the historic Great War battlefields of France and Belgium.

The Menin Gate Ride will see fundraising cyclists travel an astonishing 150 miles from RBLI’s head office in Aylesford, Kent, all the way to Ypres, where the eastern border of France reaches Flanders Fields – the home of some of the most momentous battles of the war.

After passing through the this remarkable region of western Belgium and climbing a total of more than 1,000 total metres in altitude the cyclists will then arrive in Ypres, surrounded by the Salient Battlefields, in time to attend the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.

The event is fully supported with ride captains, transport of luggage, support vehicles, tour leaders and medics. Light refreshments will be available at the start, and you will also receive lunch and refreshment stops each day and a celebration dinner on the final night in Ypres.

This is a fundraising event for RBLI. Participation on the ride is dependent on your commitment to raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship on top of the costs of £499 per person.

You can either sign up to this event below, or sponsor a veteran to take part.
