Housing, Residential Nursing Homes & Independent Living Schemes
RBLI offers a range of accommodation, welfare support and convalescent care to those with a connection to the Armed Forces Community or with a disability or health condition.
As well as a range of family housing, we offer single persons accommodation and assisted living schemes for all ages. We cater for many individuals with a variety of circumstances and aim to enable prolonged independent living in a safe and homely environment wherever possible.
All of our accomodation is based in our unique and beautiful location on the Royal British Legion Village in Aylesford, Kent, and approximately 600 people call it ‘home’. For details of our nursing home and assisted living schemes, please see below. For other enquiries, please contact us today.
Gavin Astor House
Gavin Astor House is our 50 bedded nursing home located within beautiful landscaped gardens. Our residential nursing services provide specialised nursing healthcare and personal care to young adults and older people with a physical disability. Nursing care is provided via a personalised service, tailored to the individual’s care plan.
***In 2012 Gavin Astor House was awarded Three Star Excellence accreditation from the Care Quality Commission***
Queen Elizabeth Court
Queen Elizabeth Court is our 40 flat home and assisted living scheme. The scheme is designed to enable our residents to live independently with the security of 24 hour on-call emergency assistance and personal convalescent care at hand. The home provides care for Veterans and their dependants over 60 years who need a degree of assistance to maintain their independence. Our experienced in house domiciliary care agency helps us to maintain excellent assistance and support facilities.

Mountbatten Pavilion is a 24 bedded home and supported housing scheme for single Armed Forces Veterans or their dependants (regardless of whether they served in the British Army, Royal Air Force or Royal Navy). It’s a ‘stepping stone’ or halfway home intended to enable residents to maximise their potential in a safe environment while they access training and welfare support in order to lead independent lives with confidence in the future.
Prince Philip Lodge
Prince Philip Lodge, also located on the Village, consists of six, self-contained fully furnished flats which are used as short–stay accommodation for Veterans repatriating from abroad. During their stay residents are assisted in completely re-building their lives in the UK. For more information about our repatriation service see below.
We currently own 74 properties on the Royal British Legion Village in Kent. We have a range of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties which can be provided as accommodation for those with an ex-service connection under 65 years of age. To learn more and apply, click here.
