RBLI shortlisted for two national awards

Royal British Legion Industries has this week been nominated in three categories in two separate national awards for outstanding and innovative services to the employment sector.

RBLI has been shortlisted for two coveted ERSA Employability Awards. Firstly, in recognition of the charity’s range of employment services including the delivery of the Access to Work programme, which provides tailored individual support to those facing barriers in the workplace due to disability, RBLI has been shortlisted in the Disability and Health Employment category.

The second of the ERSA award nominations is in the Innovation category, in which RBLI’s employment support programme for veterans, LifeWorks, has been recognised.

Chief Executive of ERSA, Kirsty McHugh said: “This year’s award submissions demonstrate the extraordinary achievements of individuals and organisations across the sector and our judges had an unenviable task shortlisting the best of the best in each category.

“Common to every nomination is the passion and commitment they show to supporting employability and transforming lives, communities and businesses. These awards celebrate and champion the best of the work that goes on at the frontline every day in the sector.”

Lifeworks has also been shortlisted in the Education and Training category at this year’s Charity Awards. Now in its 18th year, the Charity Awards will be held on the 8th June in the ground of the Tower of London, while the ERSA Employability Awards will take place on 29th June with the Minister for Employment in attendance.

Julian Chislett, chief executive of Civil Society Media, which organises the Charity Awards, congratulated all the shortlisted charities on making the shortlist. He said:
“The standard of entries this year was incredible, and the charities we shortlist remain a constant inspiration to all of us.

“For 17 years the Charity Awards have been identifying and celebrating the fantastic work that UK charities do. Our rigorous judging process singles out those charities with the most innovative ideas and the most inspirational approaches to delivering maximum impact.”

“We wish all the charities the very best of luck on the night.”
